Instructional Aide
Description
Outdoor Autism and Special Issues School (OASIS) is a certified school for teens and young adults with autism ages 12-22. Our students are on the go every day - swimming, hiking, learning life skills, and fulfilling their sensory needs with tons of activity. We focus on developing skills through hands-on experience and plenty of movement. Our teaching aides work with different students each day, exploring in State Parks, beaches, and the community.
Our school is certified by the California Department of Education as a year-round program. If you'd like to move away from a table-based, indoor approach and try a more active routine that involves accompanying students on lots of outings, this is the job for you! You will have support and collaboration from a full-time special education teacher in working with students who have both social and communication challenges.
We are looking for an Instructional Aide who is flexible, calm, and ready to build connection through shared fun. We provide training on our unique style and the ways we support our students as they go into the community with us.
